A transit is an aspect between a planet where it is today and a planet where it was when you were born. Your natal chart never changes; the sky keeps moving over it. A Moon transit lasts about a day, Mercury and Venus stay in orb for several days to two weeks, and Mars lingers for weeks (longer when it turns retrograde); slow planets (Jupiter to Pluto) sit on one natal point for months. The list below is sorted by orb, so the tightest aspect comes first.

Read the transiting planet as the weather and the natal planet as the part of you it rains on. Transiting Mars square natal Mercury is a day when words come out sharper than intended; transiting Venus trine natal Moon is a day when comfort comes easily. A trine or sextile is a flow to use, a square or opposition is a friction to learn from, and a conjunction is energy concentrated in one place.
Without a birth time the Moon's natal position can be off by up to 13°, so transits to your natal Moon are the least certain. Every other planet is fine with the date alone. The positions are computed with the Swiss Ephemeris for noon KST; the natal side uses your saved birth date, or the one you type in.
Only aspects within the orb (up to 8° for a conjunction, 4° for a sextile) count. Some days none of the ten planets lands within range of your natal planets; that is a quiet day, not an error.
A horoscope uses only your Sun sign. Transits compare today's sky to all ten of your natal planets, so two people with the same Sun sign get different lists.
Not for most of it. The time matters only for transits to your natal Moon and, if you add a city, to the Ascendant and houses.
