Synastry lays one person's natal chart over another's and reads the aspects between them. Sun-sign compatibility compares two signs; synastry compares up to a hundred planet pairs, so it can explain why two "incompatible" signs get along and two "perfect" ones do not. Trines and sextiles between the charts are ease; squares and oppositions are the friction that keeps a relationship interesting or wears it down.
Astrological compatibility based on the aspects between two people's birth planets.

The score starts at 50. Each harmonious aspect between the two charts (conjunction, sextile, trine) adds six points and each tense one (square, opposition) takes five, clamped between 5 and 95. It is a rough summary, not a verdict: a chart pair with one exact Venus-Mars trine can feel closer than one with three loose sextiles. Read the list of key aspects under the score; that is where the story is.
Without birth times, each person's Moon is calculated for noon and may be off by up to 13°, so Moon aspects are the least reliable part. Everything else works with the dates alone. Birth data is used for the calculation only and is not stored.
Sun-Moon, Moon-Moon, Venus-Mars and Sun-Ascendant contacts are the classic ones for attraction and daily ease. Saturn contacts show where the relationship feels like work, and often where it lasts.
It means more tense aspects than easy ones. Many long relationships have low synastry scores; the tension is what each person grows against. Use it to see where the friction is, not whether to stay.
No. The aspects are the same either way; only the labels A and B swap.
