Communication is key today. If something is on your mind, say it.

The sign of freedom and passion — lively, honest, and ready to gallop anywhere.
The Horse is bright, active and honest. Loves freedom and isn't afraid to start new things, but can lack patience, be fickle, and chafe at restriction.
Hot and direct love. Expresses interest right away and keeps the mood fun, lasting longest with a partner who respects its freedom.
Shines in dynamic fields with movement and change — sales, media, travel, sports, planning.

In–O–Sul Fire — peak seat
It was the fastest, and the story goes that it lost its place in the instant the Snake startled it at the finish. Speed was never the issue; one flinch was. The O (午) hour (11am–1pm) is the sun at its highest, so this seat is read as the strongest of the twelve.
Read from the O (午) seat. What do these terms mean?
Three Harmony three signs that together form one element · Six Harmony one of the six pairs the twelve fold into · Neutral no fixed harmony or clash · Same Seat the same branch twice · Harm each quietly loses a little · Break arrangements tend to slip · Clash directly opposite on the circleTiger is the start and Horse the middle. Add Dog at the close and the three make Fire.
Together they turn to Earth. Midsummer and late summer sit side by side on the circle of twelve.
Horse is the middle and Dog the close. Add Tiger at the start and the three make Fire.
Fire feeds Earth, so Horse supports; 2 steps apart (lunar months 3, 5).
Both run on Fire; 1 step apart (lunar months 4, 5).
Horse × Horse
Season, hour and direction all coincide (midsummer, 11am–1pm, due south). Tiger and Dog fill what is missing.
Fire presses on Metal; 2 steps apart (lunar months 5, 7).
Fire presses on Metal; 3 steps apart (lunar months 5, 8).
Water presses on Fire; 5 steps apart (lunar months 5, 10).
Lunar months 12 and 5 — 5 steps apart.
Due east and due south, mid-spring and midsummer — angled away from each other.
Due north against due south, 11pm–1am against 11am–1pm — and Water against Fire.
Take 2026: the Horse year begins on Feb 17, the lunar new year — anyone born before that is still the Snake. Saju counts the year from Lichun instead, which fell on Feb 4 that year, so births between the two dates carry one sign by custom and another in the chart. Why two different rules?
| Year | Starts (lunar new year) | Lichun (Saju year) |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 | Feb 17 | Feb 4 |
| 2014 | Jan 31 | Feb 4 |
| 2002 | Feb 12 | Feb 4 |
| 1990 | Jan 27 | Feb 4 |
| 1978 | Feb 7 | Feb 4 |
| 1966 | Jan 22 | Feb 4 |
The branch repeats every twelve years but the stem runs on a ten-year cycle, so the same pairing only comes back after sixty. That makes five kinds of Horse year, each carrying a different stem element on top of Fire.
2026, 2014, 2002, 1990, 1978, 1966, 1954 and 1942 are Horse years. If born before the lunar new year you may belong to the previous sign, the Snake.
The Horse goes well with the Tiger and Dog and pairs well with the Goat. It clashes most with the Rat.
Impatience and fickleness. Adding the persistence to see one thing through lets its natural drive bear fruit.
